We always work with hotels that are mindful of their environments and committed to sustainable tourism. Ulagalla has a strong ecological focus and is a leader in environmental design. This eco-friendly resort was constructed using green materials and no trees were cut down during construction. In fact, 1000 root balled trees have subsequently been planted on the property.

Half of the resort’s energy requirement is generated through solar power and Ulagalla has the largest solar farm in Sri Lanka. The resort has an LEED certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which is an internationally recognised green building certification.
