A stylish safari camp set in the Naboisho conservancy, offering something a little extra for those wanting a unique safari stay.
Set in small clearing of a secluded valley in the Naboisho conservancy, overlooking beautiful fig trees and a selection of well used waterholes. Watch the sunrise from your tents as the abundant wildlife of the area visits Leopard Hill Camp.
Spacious luxury tents with a retractable roof so you can lie in bed and look at the stars
Leopard Hill is a well-priced high spec camp part of the larger Basecamp collection. The owners are very dedicated to conservation in Kenya and in part were responsible for the creation and great success of the Naboisho conservancy. They work hard ongoing to implement more sustainable practices and supporting those living alongside wildlife.
With just six tents nicely spaced out, this camp offers beautiful accommodation for your safari. Leopard Hill allows children from 7+ making the family tent a great option for those with younger children. For those looking for a perfect honeymoon, the honeymoon tent with private lounge, fireplace and retractable roof makes for a stunning getaway.
The Naboisho conservancy is a fantastic choice for your Mara safari, with abundant wildlife, low tourist numbers and 20,000 hectares of wilderness to explore. This is one of the leading conservancies, working closely with the Maasai landowners and fellow ecotourism operations to offers a varied and special safari for you.
Whilst here enjoy your shared safari activities, head out on night game drives, bush walks or even fly camping. Massages are available at the lodge for those looking to wind down or grab a drink at the bar as you gather around the fire to swap safari stories. Leopard Hill is ideal for those looking for a lovely camp, with great staff at a very reasonable price point. The guiding is solid and the staff will make your stay memorable!
The Camp
Consisting of 6 stylish tents, all nicely spread out they offer great comfort and privacy. One tent is a family unit with two separate tents sharing the same wooden deck and a honeymoon tent set apart from the rest and offering a lounge area.
All tents are beautifully furnished, with safari style furnishings and a little Indian flavour thrown in! They are very spacious, can be double or twin and offer solar heated indoor or outdoor showers. The real highlight here is the amazing retractable roof, with a click of a button your tent fabric pulls back allowing you to gaze out under the night sky with just a mosquito net between you and the stars. Another win for us, each tent has its own small fire put which can be lit to accompany your sundowners each evening.
There is a main lounge tent which is pleasantly furnished and centred around a stone fireplace, with some lounges and games making is cosy on the colder evenings. Off this you have the dining area, made up of individual tables and a drinks station stocked up all day.
Talk of a spa tent is in the works but not yet confirmed – watch this space!
Facilities
The great thing about being in a conservancy is the more relaxed rules and lower tourist numbers. Allowing for activities such as night drives, bush walks and even fly camping at an additional cost.
Dining
Food here tends to be simple hearty safari style meals and very tasty, they have a good vegetarian menu. The meals often have an Indian twist and the chefs are very good at accommodating dietary requirements if known in advance.
