Shinta Mani Wild is an unparalleled property offering luxury, adventure, and sustainability in a remote Cambodian jungle
Set in the heart of one of Southeast Asia’s greatest wilderness areas, Shinta Mani Wild takes you where few others have gone before.
Shinta Mani Wild takes you deep within a Cambodian rainforest
Submerged deep within the rainforest-cloaked mountains in Cambodia , this luxury camp occupies 400 protected acres within the Southern Cardamom National Park, located 1.5 hours from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville.
This private sanctuary is perched on the edge of a pristine waterfall, with each luxury tent set over the rushing rapids of southeast Asia’s last wild estuarine ecosystem. Guests are invited to catch their first glimpse of this breathtaking wilderness from the air. You can whizz over the forest on Cambodia’s second-longest zipline, passing by the waterfall as you touch down in the Landing Zone Bar. You’ll be warmly welcomed with a cool drink, before sitting down with the superb team to plan your Shinta Mani adventure. The property offers a number of unique experiences to immerse its guests in this unparalleled location. Join the Wildlife Alliance rangers (funded by Shinta Mani) as they patrol the region to protect animals from poaching and the forest from illegal logging, and venture out with the camp's Sous Chef on his daily forage, to discover wild treats in the forest. Head out on the custom-built, luxury expedition boat to discover secret waterways around, and enjoy the sunrise and sunset with a delicious picnic in stunning locations. From hiking and mountain biking to kayaking and tenkara fishing, Shinta Mani aims to instil a deeper appreciation for this precious wilderness, through spectacular, daring experiences.
The Property
Shinta Mani Wild is a jungle oasis, made up of 15 custom-designed tents, strewn over 1.5 kilometres of river. Each luxury tent is suspended over the flowing rapids in a secluded spot, with stunning views across the forest and valley, and you’ll revel in the romantic tranquillity. The spacious tents are styled with gorgeous antiques and whimsical decor, inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s luxury safari in the Cambodia jungle with King Sihanouk in 1967, and the lavish amenities ensure supreme modern comfort. Sink into the cloud-like bed, soak in the huge outdoor bath, or relax on your deck with a chilled drink from your private bar, with only the sweet sounds of warbling birds and the churning waterfall. There is a larger two-bedroom tent, ideal for groups or families; however, Shinta Mani is not suitable for children - there is an age limit of 13 years, due to the wild nature of the camp. You can relax or explore as you wish, and your personal Bensley Butler is always on hand to meet your every request. After a thrilling day of exploration, take a dip in the stunning outdoor pool surrounded by rainforest, or indulge in exquisite treatments at the Boulders Spa, with natural, chemical-free products by Khmer Tonics. You’ll be well-fed throughout your stay with fresh meals, and delicious tasting menus served at the Waterfall Restaurant by the exceptional team of chefs. The wonderful staff are happy to customise your dishes and serve your meals in your tent or panoramic locations.

How this resort makes your trip more responsible
Environmental and social sustainability is the driving force behind Shinta Mani Wild. The camp was born out of the need to protect this threatened corner of Cambodia, after esteemed designer, Bill Bensley, identified an unprotected wildlife corridor between the Bokor and Kirirom National Parks. He joined forces with Wildlife Alliance, the Royal University of Phnom Penh and the Cambodian Government to establish a groundbreaking conservation model to protect this threatened area. The outcome was a world-class luxury camp that operates harmoniously with the environment, working to conserve the wildlands and create sustainable opportunities for the local people living in the area.
The Shinta Mani Foundation is at the helm of the conservation and community outreach programs for the camp, with the aim of providing gainful training and long-term employment to the people of this region. Locals can attend a hospitality school in Siem Reap, undergoing nine months of training and family support, with the opportunity for well-paid employment on the completion of the program. Of a team of 120 staff, two-thirds are from local villages, and Shinta Mani is committed to maintaining that number. The camp even works with poachers and loggers, offering them new roles as protective rangers, where they can use their invaluable regional knowledge to conserve the environment.
