An eco-friendly safari camp with soul, Pom Pom Camp shows you the heart of the Okavango Delta.
Located on Pom Pom Island, within the Matsebe private concession, hidden in the spiderweb waterways of the Okavango Delta, encased by the Xudum river system, this camp serves up lush and serene scenery, as well as unparalleled wildlife-watching opportunities.
Located on Pom Pom island, relax in luxury whilst taking in the beautiful views
Enjoy game drives by day and night, traverse the water channels via mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe) safaris, take a relaxing boat cruise to watch wildlife swimming and drinking, then try your hand at angling with a catch-and-release fishing trip to hook an African pike or bream.
As you float in the southwest of Botswana’s famous delta, look out for appearances from safari favourites, such as baboon, zebra, hippo, giraffe, elephant, cheetah, leopard, lion, wildebeest, warthog and more, as well as a rare glimpse of an African wild dog, pangolin, or honey badger.
In addition to the big game, you’re sure to be impressed by the flurry of feathers that abound the fertile Delta region, with notable species such as the pied kingfisher, African jacana and the elusive Pel’s fishing owl calling this magical corner of Botswana home.
In the evenings, curl up by the campfire with your fellow guests and guides, swap safari stories and camera captures, and unwind under the star-strewn Botswanan sky.
The Camp
Pom Pom’s nine luxury Meru-style tents include one family tent, which is closest to the main lodge building and accommodates four guests (two adults, two children). All rooms rest in the shade of surrounding foliage, with views over the Pom Pom Lagoon. Tents are en-suite, with semi-open spaces for wildlife-watching in your downtime, furnished in a contemporary style with nods to Botswanan heritage, plus alfresco showers.
Facilities
Facilities include a dining room, a bar and lounge, plus a swimming pool.
Dining
Stays at Pom Pom Camp are full board, and you’ll enjoy creative meals prepared by experienced safari chefs, eating family-style in the camp’s dedicated dining area.
