Jacana Camp is set on a small, palm-fringed island in the permanent wetlands of the private Jao Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Accommodation comprises of five luxurious ‘Meru’ style tents (including a two-bedroom family tent), each set on a raised wooden deck offering breathtaking views over the Okavango Delta's western floodplains.The spacious and beautifully decorated tents feature large comfortable beds with mosquito nets, two wicker chairs and a table, wooden flooring, ceiling fans and mosquito coils, which are lit at night by the staff. The canvas tents have floor-to-ceiling windows on either side of the bedroom, which makes them exceptionally light and airy, and offers an opportunity to spot wildlife from your bed! All tents are en-suite with flush toilets, double sinks, and showers – and although the bathroom is enclosed, it is roofless, allowing for showers under the African sky!The camp’s main building is set on an elevated wooden deck between two sycamore fig trees and is surrounded by dense wild date palms. The building is on two levels – there’s a cosy bar and relaxing lounge downstairs, and behind the bar, there’s an area with a fire pit which is a popular place for pre-dinner drinks, whilst the main dining area is upstairs, offering spectacular views of the surrounding floodplains.Jacana Camp also has a plunge pool which is perfect for cooling off from the midday sun, plus there’s a gazebo with hammocks - ideal for a nap in between safari activities.
