Experience the magic of Bandhavgarh National Park trying to spot Tigers

Spot the Tigers at Bandhavgarh National Park Bandhavgarh National Park is known for it's wonderful Tiger safari

Bandhavgarh National Park in Central India is renowned for its high concentration of Bengal tigers, making it a premier destination for tiger sightings. The park's smaller size contributes to this density, enhancing the chances of encountering these majestic animals. Bandhavgarh features a picturesque mix of sal forests, bamboo corridors, and savannahs, with a varied landscape of wooden tabletop hills and winding dirt tracks offering stunning vistas over the jungle.

Unlike Ranthambore’s ten zones, Bandhavgarh has six zones, including three core zones. Visitors usually enter the park through one of three gates: Tala, Magdhi, or Khitauli. The Tala zone is particularly notable, home to the historic Bandhavgarh Fort and a 10th-century statue of Vishnu, reflecting the park’s rich cultural heritage.

In addition to Bengal tigers, the park hosts a diverse array of wildlife, including Indian gaur, sambar, chital, jungle cats, wild boars, sloth bears, and Indian elephants, along with 150 bird species. The impressive tiger population in both the core and buffer areas makes Bandhavgarh a popular destination for safari-goers. Each drive is limited to one zone, but the park's vast wilderness often makes it feel like you have the jungle to yourself.

The best time to visit Bandhavghar National Park

The best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park in India is during the cooler, dry season from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C, making it ideal for wildlife spotting as animals are more active and visible. The park is lush and green after the monsoon, enhancing its visual appeal.

The months of March and April are also favourable, with temperatures rising to 35°C, causing animals to gather around water sources, improving sighting opportunities. While the summer months from April to June can be good for tiger sightings, the heat, with temperatures reaching up to 45°C, can be uncomfortable for visitors. The monsoon season from July to September brings heavy rainfall and the park's closure for maintenance and rejuvenation.
