Trip Itinerary
Days 1-3: Medellin
Day 1 - Arrive in Colombia
Welcome to Colombia! Arrive to a friendly welcome in the city of Medellin and be met and driven to your hotel. Arrive at El Cielo Hotel, a trendy hotel with modern design, a cool rooftop pool, and central location in the very happening El Poblado neighbourhood. Relax after a journey to Colombia and enjoy your surroundings and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Days 2 - Medellin City Tour
After a delicious breakfast, head out and discover the vibrant city of Medellin. Discover the now vibrant and thriving Comuna 13 to learn about the social and cultural transformation this city has undergone, from the most dangerous to the most innovative city in the world. Meet fascinating locals, check-out cool street art and visit a music collective to learn to play Afrocolombian beats with paint- can drums. Jump on the metrocable which as drastically helped the accessibility of Comuna 13 and to so many more neighborhoods in Medellin.
Days 3 - Explore the Andean Countryside from Medellin
Imagine a day spent immersed in the stunning Andean countryside. Start the morning with a thrilling E-bike ride or ATV adventure, winding through picturesque trails that showcase the rugged beauty of the Andes. As you traverse the diverse terrain, the crisp mountain air invigorates your senses, and the panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and lush valleys unfold before you.
Midday, find a charming spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. The setting is nothing short of spectacular: a cozy picnic area with a breathtaking backdrop of towering mountains. Savor a delicious meal while soaking in the tranquility of the landscape, with the grandeur of the Andes forming a dramatic, awe-inspiring canvas. The experience combines the thrill of outdoor exploration with the serene pleasure of dining amidst one of nature’s most magnificent settings.
Days 4-6: Coffee Region
Day 4 - Transfer to the Coffee Region
Morning flight to Armenia, Colombia (35 minutes) and arrive at Hacienda Bambusa, a traditional cacao farm with a homely feel. You will spend the next 3 nights exploring the Coffee Region and learning about this historic region. Visit the cacao plantation to learn about the harvesting process, and enjoy a chocolate-making workshop.
Day 5 - Explore the Coffee Region
Today is your first full day in the Coffee Region, in the morning you will travel to the Valle del Cocora, a breathtaking set of mountains with towering 60-meter palm trees. Enjoy some light trekking in a private hacienda and a picnic lunch with stunning views of the valley. In the Afternoon guests will visit the colourful town of Salento, to play a round of Tejo, an exciting local game with explosion sounds. Head back to your accommodation and relax for the evening.
Day 6 - Coffee region
Today marks your final day in Colombia's enchanting coffee region. Start the day with an adventurous horseback ride or a scenic trek through the lush, historic landscapes of the coffee axis. Pause for a traditional Colombian lunch, savoring the rich flavors and local delicacies. In the afternoon, delve into the secrets of Colombian coffee with a private tasting session, where you'll learn about the intricate processes and unique characteristics that make Colombian coffee renowned worldwide. Enjoy every moment as you soak in the beauty and culture of this verdant region.
Days 7 - Cartagena
Day 7 - Transfer to Cartagena
This morning guests will get a private transfer to Pereira Airport (1.5 - 2 hours) and take a flight to Cartagena (1 hour). In Cartagena arrive at Sofitel Santa Clara, one of the Old City’s top hotels, ideal for families thanks to the large swimming pool and spacious areas to relax in. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the old city at your leisure.
Day 8 - Explore Cartagena
This morning, indulge in a delicious breakfast before diving into a perfect family adventure. Dress up in pirate gear and embark on an exciting treasure hunt through Cartagena’s historic buildings, uncovering hidden gems and secrets of the past. Spend the afternoon savoring the vibrant flavors of Caribbean street food and sampling exotic fruits as you wander through the charming streets of the Old City. As the day winds down, experience the tranquility and beauty of the region with a sunset kayaking excursion along Cartagena’s picturesque bays, offering a serene and magical end to your day.
Day 9 - Explore Cartagena
Begin your day with the thrill of morning surfing classes led by a friendly local English-speaking surfer, riding the waves and soaking in the coastal beauty. Afterward, delve into the colorful and lively Getsemani neighborhood in the afternoon. Stroll through its charming streets, engage with the warm and welcoming locals, and immerse yourself in the creative atmosphere by joining a dynamic graffiti workshop with a hip and talented street artist, bringing the vibrant murals to life.
Day 10 - Rosario Islands
Embark on an island-hopping adventure in the Rosario Islands archipelago aboard a private speedboat or yacht. Spend your day snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters and cruising along the beautiful coralline islands. Enhance your experience with optional activities like paddle boarding, kayaking, or scuba diving.
